IND-031-04 e-filing error
'PrimaryPriorYearPIN' or 'PrimaryPriorYearAGIAmt' in the Return Header must match the e-File database. (value #########, rule IND-031-04).
You'll get this error if the taxpayer's
Prior year PIN
or Prior Year AGI
doesn't match the IRS e-File database. Solution
note
The value in the error message represents the SSN or EIN causing the rejection.
- Go to thePINscreen, in theElectronic Filingfolder.
- Check thePrior year taxpayer PINandPrior year AGIfor the taxpayer.
- If incorrect, correct it, then re-create and retransmit the return.
- If correct do one of the following:
- Contact the IRS at 800-829-1040 for more information.
- Use the Practitioner PIN option.
- If you want to set up the Practitioner PIN for all clients:
- SelectSetup, thenOffice Configuration.
- Select theE-Filingtab.
- SelectERO, then mark thePractitioner PIN Program filercheckbox.
note- To turn offPractitioner PIN, clear the checkbox after you've re-transmitted the rejected return.
- If you've enteredPrior year PINorPrior year AGIon thePINscreen, you'll need to delete these entries before you can use the Practitioner PIN and for the return to be accepted.
