IND-037-01 and IND-038-01 e-file errors

If 'PrimaryDeathDt' has a value, then the Filer address in the Return Header must not be a Foreign Address. (IND-037-01)enter full error message

If 'PrimaryDeathDt' has a value, then the Filer address in the Return Header must not be a Foreign Address. (IND-037-01)
You'll get this error if the return has a
Date of death
 and a foreign address.

Solution

You'll need to paper file returns with a date of death and a foreign address.
  1. Go to the
    1040
     screen, in the
    General folder
    .
  2. Review the
    Address
     and
    Date of death
    .
    • If incorrect, correct it, then re-create and retransmit the return.
    • If correct and includes a
      Date of death
       and a foreign address, paper file the return with Form 8948.
