If 'ThirdPartyDesigneeInd' in the return has a choice of 'Yes' indicated, then 'ThirdPartyDesigneeNm' must have a value.

You'll get this error if you haven't completed the Third Party Designee
for Form 1040.

folder.

Go to File
, then Client Properties.

Make sure there is a preparer assigned to the return.

Go to Setup
, then Office Configuration
.

In the Preparers
tab, make sure that the preparer has the correct Designee PIN

Go the

Contact

screen, in the General
folder.

Make sure the Third Party Designee section is completed.

In Forms View
, go to Form 1040 and clear any overrides in the Third Party Designee section.

Re-create and retransmit the return.
