If 'ThirdPartyDesigneeInd' in the return has a choice of 'Yes' indicated, then 'ThirdPartyDesigneePIN' must have a value.

You'll get this error if you've not completed the Third Party Designee for Form 1040.

Make sure you've assigned a preparer to the return.

Go to Setup
, then Office Configuration
.

In the Preparers
tab, make sure that the assigned preparer has the correct Designee PIN
.

Go the

Contact

screen, in the General
folder.

Make sure you've completed the Third Party Designee section.

In Forms View
, go to Form 1040 and clear any overrides in the Third Party Designee section.

Re-create and retransmit the return.
