IND-123 e-file error

If 'TaxOnIRAsAmt' in the return has a non-zero value and 'retirementTaxPlanLiteralCd' does not have a value, then 'TaxOnIRAsAmt' must be equal to the sum of the following on Form 5329: 'IRAEarlyDistributionsTaxAmt' and 'EducIRADistributionsTaxAmt' and 'IRAExcessContribTaxAmt' and 'RothIRAExcessContribTaxAmt' and 'EducIRAExcessContribTaxAmt' and 'MSAExcessContribTaxAmt' and 'HSAExcessContribTaxAmt' and 'ABLEExcessContribTaxAmt' and 'RtmntAnntyExcessContribTaxAmt'.
You'll get this error when Form 1040, Schedule 4, line 59 is not equal to the sum of Form 5329 lines 4, 8, 17, 25, 33, 41, 49, 51, and 55.

Solution

  1. Verify that you've cleared the
    Print with firm data on form
     checkbox on the
    1099R-2
     screen, in the
    Retirement
     folder.
  2. Verify that you've cleared the
    Print with firm data on form
     checkbox on the
    5329
     screen, in the
    Taxes
     folder.
  3. Re-create and resubmit the electronic file.
