IND-147 e-file error
Missing Data: /Return/ReturnHeader/Filer/PrimarySSN: The e-File database indicates a First Time Homebuyer Installment Payment is due for the Primary SSN. Include amount on 'FirstTimeHmByrRepaymentAmt' of the return and attach Form 5405 if required. (value #########, rule IND-147)
You'll get this error when the IRS has determined that the taxpayer on this return still needs to repay First-Time Homebuyer amounts.
Solution
- Use the First-Time Homebuyer Credit Account Look-up tool to view the balance of the taxpayer's First-Time Homebuyer Credit.
- Go to theTaxesfolder, then the5405screen.
- Complete the5405screen.noteTo determine what to enter, use the account lookup tool, our help article on the5405screen, and the IRS' Form 5405 instructions.
- EnterTaxpayerinOwner of the home in which the first-time buyer credit was taken.
- If the home is no longer in the taxpayer's possession, enter theReason for disposition or change of main homeandDate sold or no longer used as principle residence.noteThis indicates that no further repayment is required.
