IND-180-01 e-file error
Database Validation Error: /ValidateEntityResponse/Response1040Payload/ResponseEntityGroup/TIN: Primary taxpayer's Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN) must match the e-File database. Please double check your entry and resubmit your return with the correct number. (value , rule IND-180-01)
You'll get this error if the PIN in the return doesn't match the PIN the IRS provided to the taxpayer for the calendar year.
Solution
note
A new PIN is generated each year for the taxpayer's account.
- Go to theElectronic Filing inputfolder.
- Select theIDAuthscreen.
- Select theTaxpayerto make sure the PIN is correct.
- If the PIN is wrong, correct. it, then re-create and retransmit the e-file.
- If the PIN seems correct, ask the taxpayer to contact the IRS or follow the IRS' Get An Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) instructions to get the current PIN.
