IND-298-01 e-file error
If 'RefundAmt' in the return has a non-zero value and the filing status of the return is married filing jointly and both 'PrimaryDeathDt' and 'SpouseDeathDt' have values, then one of the following must be true: (1) two Forms 1310 are present in the return or (2) two binary attachments with Description "Personal Representative Court Certificate" are present or (3) one Form 1310 is present and a binary attachment with Description "Personal Representative Court Certificate" is present.
You'll get this error if Form 1310 is missing or incomplete.
Solution
- Go to the1310screen, in theGeneralfolder.
- Complete this screen for the taxpayer and spouse.
- Re-create and retransmit the return.
