IND-510-01 e-file error
Duplicate Condition: /Return/ReturnHeader/Filer/SpouseSSN: The Spouse SSN in the return must not be the same as the Primary SSN on another return filed for the same tax year. (value #########, rule IND-510-01)
You'll get this error if the spouse SSN entered has already been used as the primary SSN on another return.
Solution
- Go to the General folder.
- Open the 1040 screen.
- Check theSpouse SSNfield for accuracy. If the SSN is incorrect, correct it, then recreate and resubmit the e-file.
- If the SSN is correct, you'll need to file the return on paper with Form 8948. You can contact the IRS at 866.255.0654 for more information.
