R0000-679 e-file error
'PrimaryPriorYearPIN' or 'PrimaryElectronicFilingPIN' or 'PrimaryPriorYearAGIAmt' in the Return Header must match the e-File database. (rule R0000-679-01)
You'll get this error message if the taxpayer's PIN or AGI information doesn't match the e-File database.
Solution: Verify the taxpayer information
- Go to the PIN screen in the Electronic Filing folder.
- Verify thePrior year taxpayer PINandPrior year AGIwith the taxpayer.
- Correct any typos or incorrect information, then recreate and retransmit the return.
- If both fields are correct, contact the IRS at 800.829.1040 for more information.
Solution 2: Use a Practitioner PIN
To use a Practitioner PIN for all clients:
- SelectSetup, thenOffice Configuration.
- Select theE-Filingtab, thenERO.
- Mark thePractitioner PIN Program filercheckbox.
