R0000-906-02 e-file error

Database Validation Error: Routing Transit Number (RTN) included in the return must be present in the e-File database. (rule R0000-906-02)

You'll get this error message if the IRS e-File database doesn't recognize the routing number used in the return.

Go to the General folder.

Select the Bank
screen.

Check that the Routing transit number
and the Name of financial institution
fields are correct.

Correct any typos or incorrect information, then recreate and retransmit the e-file.

If everything's correct, you'll need to contact the bank for verification, or contact the IRS e-help desk at 866.255.0654.
