Federal and state filing instructions might not combine
Under some circumstances, Federal and state filing instructions might not combine.
For clients with Delaware, Michigan Business Tax, or Ohio Generic City returns, or for clients with

selected on the Est
screen, the separate taxpayer and spouse transmittal letters and filing instructions can't be combined during printing even when you select the Separate Transmittal Letter, but combine federal and state Filing Instructions
or Combine Transmittal Letter and Filing Instructions in letter format
options under Setup
, 1040 Individual
, then the Federal
tab.If the client entity is a 1040 Domestic Partnership, the federal and state filing instructions will print separately since a domestic partnership isn't recognized for federal returns.
