Include copy of extension with return for client or preparer
Don't include a copy of the extension with the return when you file it (for more information, refer to IRS Form 4868 instructions).
You can include a copy of the extension with the return when you print the client or preparer copy.
- SelectSetup, then1040 Individual.
- Select theFederaltab.
- SelectOther Return Options.
- On theReturn Presentationtab, mark thePrint copy of extension with tax returncheckbox.noteThe extension only prints with the client or preparer copy of the main return. You'll need to preview, print, or e-file the extension before printing the client or preparer's copy of the return.
