Extensions

Include copy of extension with return for client or preparer

Don't include a copy of the extension with the return when you file it (for more information, refer to IRS Form 4868 instructions).
You can include a copy of the extension with the return when you print the client or preparer copy.
  1. Select
    Setup
    , then
    1040 Individual
    .
  2. Select the
    Federal
     tab.
  3. Select
    Other Return Options
    .
  4. On the
    Return Presentation
     tab, mark the
    Print copy of extension with tax return
     checkbox.
    note
    The extension only prints with the client or preparer copy of the main return. You'll need to preview, print, or e-file the extension before printing the client or preparer's copy of the return.
