Customize print collation for returns filed electronically
When you file a return electronically, you can customize the tax return print collation, like you can for traditional returns.
note
- You're customizing the print collation of paper copies of the return. The entire return “prints” in the electronic version that you file.
- The print conditions in the list are either the defaults or those you set.
- You can determine which items you want included in the paper copy of the electronic file.
- If you change the print conditions, you'll also change the print conditions for the traditional returns.
- SelectSetup, then choose the application (for example,1040 Individual) for which you want to edit the print collation.noteYou might need to enter the master password.
- Select theFederalorStatetab.
- SelectTax Return.
- Select theGovernmenttab.
- Use thePrint on papercheckboxes to include or exclude include each item in the print collation for the paper copy of the electronically filed return.note
- If you mark this checkbox for an item, it will print for the government collation as long as the print condition is notNever.
- If this checkbox is cleared for an item, the item won't print regardless of the print conditions.
- For each item in the list that you want to customize, select the item and use theInclude in Email/Web attachmentcheckbox.note
- This will include the item in an attachment when the client copy of the return is delivered via email, PDF file, or NetClient CS web portal.
- The item will be included in a separate PDF attachment of “actionable items.” As the client may need to respond, they’ll be asked to open the PDF and review the file.
- This attachment is created only when the return is filed electronically and when the government copy isn't printed on paper.
- When you've finished customizing the items, selectOK, thenOKagain.
- SelectOKagain to close theProduct Informationwindow.note
- To return to the default for print conditions and print order, selectRestore Default.
- If you print tax returns for 1 client at a time, you can override the print collation on a client-by-client basis. Go toFile,Print Returns, thenOptions.
