Electronic Filing Status (Green E) - Signature Document
The Signature Document column shows
To Sign
for electronic files that need a taxpayer signature or Form 8879 / 8878. When you have a signed PIN form from the taxpayer, select Paper Signed and Returned
from the dropdown list. When you select Signed
, the application updates Form 8879 signature status
or Form 8878 signature status
for extensions on the PIN
screen.note
- When you mark theForm 8879 signature statuscheckbox, the application won't print Form 8879, but will print the information in the filing instructions that the form has been signed and returned, and no further action is needed.
- If you select1 = Taxpayer(s) entered PINforPin authorization indicator, then the Signature Document column will be inactive in theElectronic Filing Statuswindow.
