Include Form 1099-R in an electronic file
Unlike Form W-2, Form 1099-R (entered on the 1099R screen in the Retirement folder) isn't always included in the electronic file. The Form 1099-R transmits electronically with the return in the following situations:
- The 1099-R includes federal or state withholding.
- The 1099-R includes a distribution Code 3 (Disability).
- The e-file includes returns for any of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Maryland, Michigan, or West Virginia.
