Verify electronic funds withdrawal information for a return filed electronically
When you file a return electronically, you can have the balance due on the return direct debited from the client's bank account by using electronic funds withdrawal (EFW). You can't designate EFW on a paper return in UltraTax CS. For more information regarding EFW, visit the IRS website.
note
The requested payment date for EFW is the earliest date that the taxing agency can debit the bank account. It's not always the date when the funds are debited.
Use the following options to verify the designation of EFW for a balance due return. These apply to extensions as well.
Review the filing instructions for the return before creating the electronic file
By default, when you set up a client for EFW, the filing instructions will print text explaining that you have authorized the taxing agency to withdraw the payment amount.
