Multi-state allocation export/import to Excel (K1's only)

The capability on the multi-state allocation grid to import and export to or from an Excel spreadsheet.
The ability to export to or import from Excel has been added to Screen K1 and Screen K1-T multi-state allocation spreadsheets for individual returns.
To export existing allocation data to an Excel spreadsheet, complete the following steps.
  1. Select the
    Allocation
    link for any Screen K1 or Screen K1-T activity, then select
    Excel Export
    .
  2. On the next screen, you'll select where to save the Excel file. You have options you can choose to customize the spreadsheet.
  3. After the spreadsheet is exported, when opened in Excel, you'll see a facsimile of the allocation spreadsheet. You can make changes to the white fields while the grayed out fields are not applicable or allocable to those particular states. This is the same as the allocation spreadsheet within UltraTax CS.
  4. Once finished changing the spreadsheet, you can save the file and then return to UltraTax CS to import your changes.
  5. Select the
    Allocation
    link, then select
    Excel Import
    where you'll be warned that importing from the spreadsheet will replace all values present in the UltraTax CS multi-state allocation spreadsheet.
  6. Once you locate your existing Excel file and choose to import, the existing values UltraTax CS will be updated with the values from the Excel file.
