Tax Refund Worksheet isn't calculating
By default, UltraTax CS generates the
Tax Refund Worksheet
to determine the taxability of refund amounts.If the
Tax Refund Worksheet
isn't generating and the full amount of refund entered on the Refund
screen is carrying to Form 1040 line 10, you'll need to review the following setup and enter items.Verify that the Print Tax Refund Worksheet if applicable option is selected.

- On theFederaltab, select theOther Return Optionsbutton.
- Select theOthertab.
- In theGeneralsection, verify thatPrint Tax Refund Worksheet if applicableis selected.
Verify that the State and Local Income Tax Refunds Type code on the Refunds screen isn't code 7 or 8.

screen isn't code 7 or 8.- Go to theRefundsscreen in theIncomefolder.
- Open the statement forState/local income tax refunds.
- In theType Codecolumn, verify that code 7 or 8 isn't selected.

- When you select code 7 or 8, the total refund amount for this row automatically transfers to Form 1040, line 10 and won't be included on theTax Refund Worksheet.
- If you enter amounts in theState/local income tax refundsstatement with code 7 or 8 and amounts with codes 1-6, the amounts for code 7 or 8 will transfer directly to Form 1040, line 10 and be added to the amount calculated on theTax Refund Worksheetfor amounts with codes 1-6.
- If you enter anXin the2021 general sales tax deduction electionfield, line 1 of the Tax Refund Worksheet will show zero (0).
