Enter foreign pension information
To enter foreign pension information into UltraTax CS, complete the following steps.
- On the1099Rscreen in theRetirementfolder, mark theForeign employer pensioncheckbox in the Pension/Annuity Information section.noteThis field doesn’t apply when the distribution code is8,P,J,T,R,N, orS, or if theIRA/SEP/SIMPLEorPre-retirement age disabilitycheckboxes are marked.
- Enter thePayer's address,ZIP Code,foreign country,province,postal code,Payee's address, andZIP Codeif different from the1040screen.
- Complete theGross distributionandTaxable amountfields, and enter any other information in this screen.

- When the foreign pension information is complete, the Foreign Employer Compensation (FEC) or Foreign Employer Pension (FEP) Record requirement is satisfied in the electronic file.
- Form 8891 is obsolete (as of December 31, 2014, per IRS publication Revenue Procedure 2014-55), so enter Canadian pension information using the steps in this article.
- Per IRS Publication 915, treat Canadian social security benefits as though paid under the U.S. Social Security legislation. Enter Canadian benefits in theSSA-1099screen.
