Use this dialog to indicate participation with Refund Advantage and EPS Financial. The fields in the RAL Screen are inactive until you mark the
Use Electronic Refund Disbursement Service
checkbox in this dialog. Also use this dialog to enter fees that are not entered in the RAL Screen.
To participate, you must apply with one of the following services.
  • Refund Advantage: 866.876.6648, refund-advantage.com
  • EPS Financial: 484.546.2240, epstax.net
After completing an application with Refund Advantage or EPS Financial (or if your information changes), select the
Validate
button in this dialog to retrieve enrollment information from Refund Advantage or EPS Financial, such as routing transit number (RTN) and approved products.
To open this dialog, choose Setup and then 1040 Individual, select the Federal tab, and select the Bank Products button.

Depending on your security configuration, you might be prompted to enter the master password before you can open an entity type tab.

Fields & Buttons

Use Electronic Refund Disbursement Service
Mark this checkbox to activate the fields in the RAL Screen that are used to enter information for Refund Advantage or EPS Financial.
You must apply with Refund Advantage to offer their Electronic Refund Disbursement Services (DS) or Refund Advance (ADV), or apply with EPS Financial to offer their Electronic Refund Disbursement Services (DS). Additional information is available at refund-advantage.com and epstax.net.

Electronic filing fee
Use this field to enter the fee charged for electronic filing of a Refund Advantage or EPS Financial application.

Service bureau fee
If the enrollment record contains a service bureau fee, this field populates automatically when you select the
Validate
button. The fee is charged when you are processing the return through a service bureau and will download only if the Electronic Return Originator (ERO) is registered with Refund Advantage or EPS as part of the service bureau.
Service bureau EFIN
If the enrollment record contains a service bureau EFIN , this field populates automatically when you select the Validate button. This EFIN is the EFIN of the Parent Office listed in the enrollment record when enrolling with Refund Advantage or EPS as part of a service bureau. The EFIN will download only if the Electronic Return Originator (ERO) is registered with Refund Advantage or EPS as part of a service bureau.

  • EROs in Arkansas, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, or New York are prohibited from charging a service bureau fee due to state law.
  • This option applies to all 1040 clients.
Validate button
Select this button after completing an application with Refund Advantage or EPS Financial, or if your information changes, to retrieve enrollment information from Refund Advantage, such as routing transit number (RTN), prepaid debit card method (Instant Issue or By Mail), initial fee, and approved products.
After you select the Validate button, the Prepaid Debit Card column will have two possible values.
  • Instant Issue
    – Eligible to provide prepaid debit cards enclosed in an envelope.
    • In the RAL Screen, enter

      (Prepaid debit card) in the
      Disbursement method
      field.
    • Enter the 13-digit envelope number in the
      Prepaid debit card envelope number
      field in the RAL Screen.
  • Blank
    - Instead of indicating that the prepaid debit card is
    Instant Issue
    , Blank indicates one of two things.
    • Not eligible to offer prepaid debit cards.
    • Not yet opted in to offer prepaid debit cards. To opt in, call Refund Advantage at 800-967-4934 or EPS Financial at 484-546-2240.
