Show all hidden content
Use this window to set up tax defaults for one or more local cities that you can then assign to any UltraTax CS/1040-PA client.
To open this window, select
Setup
,
1040 Individual
, the
Pennsylvania
tab, then
Local Cities
. UltraTax CS/1040-PA includes every tax collection district. The tax collection district information links to the political subdivision code (PSD) code. After entering the City code, select a PSD code to populate the following fields:
Municipality Name
,
School District
name,
Resident Tax Rate
and
Nonresident Tax Rate
,
Estimate due dates
,
Payee
and addresses for
Estimates
,
Balance Due
,
Refund
and
Zero Balance Due
returns, and
Due Date
.
note
  • To have UltraTax CS calculate the open client's return using the tax defaults you define for a local city, enter the city's code in the
    Taxing authority city code
    field in the EIT Screen.
  • To set up tax defaults for a new local city, select
    Add
, enter a city code between 101 and 999 in the
    City code
field, select the PSD code related with the city code (the remaining fields will fill in automatically), and select
    Enter
. Some federal input screens include a
    City code
    field. When you enter
    PA
    in the
    State
field, you can select the 3-digit city code from the
    City code
dropdown. The city codes indicate what income applies to the
    Taxing Authority City code
    entered on the EIT Screen.
  • To edit the information for an existing local city, select the city in this list, then
    Edit
. Edit the information, then select
    Enter
    .
  • For every city code entered in the federal W2, C, F, and K1 screens, UltraTax CS/1040-PA creates an EITInc screen. EITInc screens determine which tax rate to use on the return, and force income and payments to the local earned income tax return. A city code entered in the PA EITOth screen also creates an EITInc screen.
  • The penalty rate used is 1% per month or a fraction of the month. The interest rate used is the same as the interest rate used on the PA-40 return.
  • Depending on your security configuration, you might receive a prompt to enter the master password before you can open any entity type's tab. Also, the Pennsylvania tab only displays if you have installed UltraTax CS/1040-PA.
