Overview

Use this screen to complete Forms PIT-RES and PIT-NON.

State Income and Tax Information

If you're processing a multiple-state return, process the
nonresident
state(s)
first
, followed by the resident state. UltraTax/1040-DE transfers necessary information from the nonresident return(s) to the resident return to complete the credit for taxes paid to other states.
If the taxpayer / spouse is a part-year resident of Delaware and you're processing a multiple-state return, UltraTax/1040 doesn't transfer information from the other part-year returns. Use the
Force
fields to generate the credit for part-year residents.
note
UltraTax/1040-DE automatically prints copies of state returns if you use UltraTax CS to file a nonresident return for which the credits for taxes paid to other states have been calculated.
State postal code and name
If you're using UltraTax CS to process multiple state returns, UltraTax/1040-DE automatically completes the
State postal code
field for the resident return. If you manually prepared a nonresident return, complete the
State postal code
field and UltraTax/1040-DE completes the
Name
field.
Total income from other state
For part-year residents, enter the total income received from the other state for the year.
Other state income while Delaware resident
For part-year residents, enter the amount of income earned from the other state while a resident of Delaware.
Other state income
If you're using UltraTax CS to process multiple state returns, UltraTax/1040-DE automatically completes the
Other state income
field for the resident return. You can use the
Taxpayer Force / Spouse Force
fields to enter the other state's AGI if the AGI is different from the calculated amount. If you manually prepared a nonresident return, enter the other state AGI amount in this field.
Tax paid to other state
If you're using UltraTax CS to process multiple state returns, UltraTax/1040-DE automatically completes the
Tax paid to other state
field for the resident return. You can use the
Taxpayer Force / Spouse Force
fields to enter the tax paid to another state if the tax paid is different from the calculated amount. If you manually prepared a nonresident return, enter the tax in this field.
