Overview

Use this screen to complete the Georgia Computation of Other State Tax Credit Worksheet when Georgia is the resident state. Part-year residency returns don't automatically calculate other state credits.

Other State Income and Tax Information

If you're processing a multiple-state return, process the nonresident state(s) first followed by the resident state. UltraTax CS transfers information from the nonresident return(s) to the resident return to complete the credit for taxes paid to other states.
State postal code and name
If you're using UltraTax CS to file a nonresident return, UltraTax/1040-GA automatically completes the
State postal code and name
fields for the resident return. If you're not using UltraTax CS to file the nonresident return, enter the state postal code, and UltraTax/1040-GA completes the
name
field.
State adjusted gross income
If you're using UltraTax CS to complete a nonresident return for a state other than Georgia and you're filing a resident return in Georgia, UltraTax CS automatically completes the
State adjusted gross income
field from information calculated in the nonresident state. Use the
Force
field to enter the state adjusted gross income amount if it's different from the calculated amount. If you're eligible to claim a credit for taxes paid for a return not calculated in UltraTax CS, or if Georgia is a part-year return, enter the amount of the other state(s) adjusted gross income that's eligible for the tax credit.
Tax paid to other state
If you're using UltraTax CS to complete a nonresident return for a different state and a resident return for Georgia, UltraTax CS automatically completes the
Tax paid to other state
field for the resident state return from information calculated for the other state. Use the
Force
field to enter the tax paid to another state if it's different from the calculated amount. If you're eligible to claim a credit for taxes paid for a return not calculated in UltraTax CS, or if Georgia is a part-year return, enter the amount of the tax paid to the other state(s) for income earned while a resident of Georgia.
Refundable credits
If you're using UltraTax CS to complete a nonresident return for a state other than Georgia, UltraTax CS automatically completes the
Refundable credits
field for the resident state return. Use the
Force
field to enter the refundable credits amount if it's different from the calculated amount. If you're eligible to claim a credit for taxes paid for a return not calculated in UltraTax CS, or Georgia is a part-year return, enter the amount of the other state(s) refundable credits that reduces the amount of taxes paid for the income attributable to Georgia. Refundable credits reduce the amount of the other state credits available.
