Computation of Current Year Loss

screen calculate current year Indiana net operating loss via Indiana’s version of Form 1045A and Schedule IT-40NOL. Use this section to force the calculated amounts.Utilization of Current Year Loss
If the taxpayer has an NOL and taxable income in the current year, you can ignore the current-year NOL to treat the carryover as zero.
NOL Modifications
In certain circumstances, taxpayers with a current year Indiana NOL need to include Schedule NOL-MOD with the Indiana return. Use this section to enter data to report on Schedule NOL-MOD. Schedule NOL-MOD is used for the following:
- Calculate amounts for Schedule IT-40NOL, lines 3, 5, and 6 for current year Indiana NOL.
- Calculate the carryforward amount by which NOL deduction claimed on Schedule 2 on returns in future years must be reduced.
