Overview

Use this screen to complete the Louisville Metro Income Tax Return and extension. If information transferred from UltraTax/1040 doesn't require additional data or coding, UltraTax CS shows it on the form only, not in the input screen.

Extension

If you want an extension, select
Calculate extension
. UltraTax CS automatically enters the due date in
Extended due date
 or you may enter a different date. UltraTax CS generates the Form OL-3E.

Extended due date
The extended due date automatically appears if

. Otherwise, enter the date that's to be used as the extended due date in the filing instructions.
Extension payment actually made: reportable on main return
Enter the amount that was actually paid with the state extension. This amount prints on Page 1 of the return when
Calculate extension
 is clear. No amount is automatically displayed in this field unless an amount is entered in
Balance due on extension (Force)
.
Alternatively, you can overrule the calculated amount by entering the amount actually paid with the current-year extension in this field. UltraTax CS then displays the new amount in black.
note
  • To delete the overruled amount and restore the original calculated amount, right-click the field and select
    Delete overrule
    .
  • To verify the accuracy of the overruled amount, right-click the field and select
    Acknowledge overruled data
    . UltraTax CS then turns off the acknowledge functionality from the right-click menu. To restore the original amount later, you'll need to enter it manually.
  • You can set a user preference to select fields for which you overruled the calculated amounts and to list all overruled amounts in the
    Diagnostics
     window.
Balance due on extension (Force)
If you enter an amount here, UltraTax CS calculates the amount of total tax using the estimated payments and withholding you have entered, marks
Calculate extension
, completes
Extended due date
, and transfers the amount to
Extension payment actually made; reportable on main return
.

Payments

Payment information may be entered for Form OL-3. If there are multiple account numbers, be sure you are entering the correct data for the account number.
