Overview
Use this screen to enter the general, representative / appointee, and tax matters information to complete the state power of attorney. If the federal POA Screen is completed, UltraTax CS transfers the federal representative data from the federal POA Screen to this screen. Transferred data may be changed, as needed. Enter data in the Tax Matters Information section in this screen to generate the state power of attorney form.
General Information
Use this section to enter general information for the Maine power of attorney.
Taxpayer, spouse, or joint
Enter the applicable letter (T, S, or J) to indicate the person(s) for whom the power of attorney applies. UltraTax CS defaults to the federal power of attorney choice if no selection is made.
Representative/Appointee Information
Use this section to enter representative information if different from the federal POA Screen. The statement can be overridden. Maine has their own designation codes which differ from the federal designation codes. Federal designation codes of enrolled agent, unenrolled return preparer, qualifying student, and enrolled retirement plan agent, are converted to other for Maine.
Select the applicable state designation code from the list provided. All Maine designations that are entered as other require an explanation to be entered.
