Use this screen to complete Forms MI-1040CR-5, MI-1040CR-7, 4013, 4764, and MI-8839.

Farmland Preservation Tax Credit

Enter information in this section to calculate Form MI-1040CR-5.
Taxes and allocation agreement
The information you enter in this statement dialog prints on Schedule CR-5. Selected fields within this statement dialog are described as follows:
  • County Code:
    Enter the 2-digit county code from the Agreement number.
  • Contract Number:
    Enter the contract number from the Agreement number. Enter a space to complete the left position(s) if the contract number is less than 6 digits.
  • Expiration Date:
    Enter the 6-digit expiration date from the Agreement number as MMDDYY.
    Example:
    (County code-Contract number-Expiration date) 14-12345-123106. For PDR agreement numbers, use 123199 for the expiration date. Example: 19-PR2625-123199.
  • Taxable Value:
    Enter the entire Taxable Value for the property even if the percent of income or ownership (Schedule CR-5, column E) is less than 100 percent of the agreement.
  • Receipt Attached?:
    Enter

    or leave this field blank to indicate that paid tax receipts are attached to the return. Enter

    to indicate that the receipt is not attached to the return.
  • Type of Ownership:
    Use the drop-down list to enter a code indicating the type of ownership that applies to the land with which the agreement is associated.
  • Percent of Inc / Own:
    Enter the amount as a decimal.
Distribution statement - joint owners
Enter distribution information for joint owners in the statement dialog attached to this field. If there are more than six lines of detail, the information is printed on a statement. Otherwise, the information transfers to Form MI-1040CR-5, Part 2. Be sure to enter the
% of Income
and
% of Ownership
amounts in this statement dialog as a decimal (Ex: 45 percent = 45.000). In the statement dialog, enter the Farmland Preservation Contract Agreement number as 14 digits as shown in the example. Enter a space to complete the left position(s) if the contract number contains fewer than 6 digits.
Example:

Home Heating Credit

The information you enter in this section is used to complete Form MI-1040CR-7.
Eligible for Form CR-7
Use this field to calculate Form MI-1040CR-7. Leave this field blank if the taxpayer does not qualify for the Form MI-1040CR-7, Michigan Home Heating Credit Claim. Do not enter

if filer is a dependent of another. Dependent's of another are not permitted to claim this credit.
Dependent information
Use the statement dialog attached to this field to complete Form MI-1040CR-7, line 16, lines D, E, F, and G, and line 17 dependent information.
Standard allowance (Force)
UltraTax CS automatically prorates the standard allowance based on number of days of Michigan residency for part-year residents or number of days lived for a deceased taxpayer. Enter an amount to override a standard allowance on Form MI-1040CR-7, line 38.

Tribal Member Sales Tax Credit

Use this section to enter tribal affiliation and income information for Form 4013, Resident Tribal Member Annual Sales Tax Credit. Information from Form 4013, Resident Tribal Member Annual Sales Tax Credit, does not transfer to Form MI-1040.
Affiliation
Select the qualifying tribal affiliation, which has implemented a Tax Agreement with Treasury, from the drop-down list.
Portion of adjusted gross income (Force)
Enter the amount of federal AGI attributed to the taxpayer or spouse, if different from the calculated amount. UltraTax CS calculates the taxpayer and/or spouse portion of AGI from amounts entered in the federal screens by the T/S/J designation and transferred to the Michigan AGI Worksheet.
Additions: Social security (Force)
Enter the amount of Social Security, not including Social Security disability, attributed to the taxpayer or spouse, if different from the calculated amount to the extent not included in AGI. UltraTax CS calculates the portion of nontaxable Social Security from amounts entered in federal SSA-1099 Screen for taxpayer and spouse. The amount is apportioned by the Social Security benefits to the total Social Security benefits and Tier 1 railroad retirement benefits. If Social Security disability benefits amounts are included, enter the nontaxable amount related to Social Security benefits received not including the Social Security disability benefits.
Additions: Railroad retirement (Force)
Enter the amount of railroad retirement attributed to the taxpayer or spouse, if different from the calculated amount to the extent not included in AGI. UltraTax CS calculates the portion of nontaxable railroad retirement from amounts entered in federal SSA-1099 Screen for taxpayer and spouse. The amount is apportioned by the Tier 1 railroad retirement benefits to the total Social Security benefits and Tier 1 railroad retirement benefits. If Social Security disability benefits amounts are included enter the nontaxable amount related to benefits received not including the Social Security disability benefits.

Enter the amount of Social Security disability, included in total Social Security, attributed to the taxpayer or spouse to the extent not included in AGI.
Additions: Fishing income per IRC 7873
Enter the amount of fishing income per IRC 7873 attributed to the taxpayer or spouse to the extent not included in AGI.
Additions: Combat Zone compensation (Force)
Enter the amount of Combat Zone compensation attributed to the taxpayer or spouse, if different from the calculated amount to the extent not included in AGI. UltraTax CS calculates the amounts using code Q in box 12 in federal W2 Screen.
