E-file Form IT-204-LL
Before e-filing Form IT-204-LL, you'll need to have generated the form.
New York mandates that you electronically file Form IT-204-LL, Limited Liability Company, Filing Fee Payment Form.

There are additional steps at the end of this procedure for: filing after the deadline, and for filing the individual state and federal tax return.
- Verify theFile this return electronicallycheckbox is checked on the federalELFscreen in theElectronic filingfolder.
- Enter identifying information on the federalIDAuthscreen in theElectronic filingfolder, if needed.
- For each LLC return you're filing, complete the following on the correspondingNYLLCElfscreen in theIT-204LLfolder:
- Mark theCreate electronic file for New York IT-204-LLcheckbox.
- Enter the bank information.noteNew York requires that you pay the filing fee by electronic funds withdrawal and you need to enter banking information on theNYLLCElfscreen for each individual LLC you're filing electronically.
- Mark theI have read the certification above and agreecheckbox to show that the ERO/Preparer has agreed to the New York Electronic Declaration Certification.noteYou can set a global option to check this automatically.
- SelectSetup,1040 Individual, then theNew Yorktab.
- SelectOther Return Options.
- Mark theAutomatically check the box to indicate ERO/Preparer has read and agreescheckbox under Electronic filing.
- SelectFile,Print Returns, then mark theCreate electronic fileunder Government Copy.
- Follow the steps to transmit the return in CS Connect.noteBy design, IT-204-LL won't print or create an electronic file simultaneously with the regular New York or federal returns. If you're filing the LLC return before the due date, the regular New York and federal returns won't generate.
- If filing after the deadline:
- Mark theGenerate this unit to print when filing after March 15 deadlinecheckbox on theNYLLCscreen.noteForm IT-204-LL is typically due on March 15. If it's after March 15, Form IT-204-LL will only calculate if you mark this field.
- Filing the individual state and federal taxnoteYou can't print or e-file the LLC return with the individual state and federal tax return simultaneously.
- If you filed the LLC return by the original March 15 due date and you're filing the individual tax returns after March 15, you don't need to do more data entry to print and e-file.
- If you're filing all returns (LLC and regular) before March 15, you'll need to suppress Form IT-204-LL to create the federal and New York state tax returns.
- To suppress Form IT-204-LL, return to theNYLLCElfscreen for each unit you e-filed.
- Clear theCreate electronic file for New York IT-204-LLcheckbox.
- Mark theSuppress New York IT-204-LL electronic file when filing federal/state return electronicallycheckbox.
- If you're also printing the returns on paper, selectFile,Print returns,Options, and clear theNew York Limited Liability CompanyandLimited Partnership Filing Feecheckboxes.
