START-UP Credits
Use this section to enter information needed to calculate START-UP Forms IT-638 and IT-640.
Unit
UltraTax CS uses the number that appears in this field to gather and coordinate information for filing Forms IT-638 and IT-640. Multiple occurrences of each form may be calculated.
Form
Enter the credit form number or use F4 to display a list of the available codes. The NYStrtUp screen is a multiple unit screen. Add a new screen for each credit form. Select
Base
and all data entry fields are enabled in this screen; select IT-638
and only IT-638-related fields are enabled.Transfer entries from base screen
This field is enabled if the
Form
field isn't blank and not equal to Base
.The application assumes that you've completed a Base unit of the NYStrtUp screen and you've added another unit of the NYStrtUp screen and selected a credit form to calculate (Form IT-638 is used in this example). Enter
X
to transfer related entries from the Base NYStrtUp screen to this screen. If you've selected IT-638
in the Form
field, only Form IT-638-related data transfers from the Base screen to the IT-602 screen. If you change Base screen data at a later time and want the new data to transfer to the IT-638 screen, remove the X
, use ENTER, and re-enter X
in this field. Statement data isn't available and doesn't transfer from a Base screen to other credit screens.You aren't required to complete a Base screen; the screen is available as a tool for taxpayers who qualify for more than 1 START-UP credit based upon the same set of data. Data entered on a Base screen alone isn't used to calculate any form.
