Generate Schedule PA-40X for an amended return

Follow these steps to generate Schedule PA-40X for an amended return.
  1. Print preview the return before entering or changing any data.
  2. Go to the PAAmend screen in the Separate filings folder.
  3. Mark the
    Transfer original information
     checkbox to transfer information from the originally filed Form PA-40 to the PAAmend screen.
    note
    • UltraTax uses the information on the PAAmend screen to calculate Schedule PA-40X.
    • You can file Schedule PA-40X electronically for tax years 2012 and later.
    • Enter an explanation of changes in the
      Amended Explanations
       statement window of the PAAmend screen to calculate Schedule PA-40X.
    • After marking the
      Transfer original information
       field on the federal Amend screen, a window opens where you can transfer the original information for any attached state returns.
