Electronic Filing Information

Use the federal ELF screen to select electronic filing for all of this client's 1040 federal, state and local returns. Review state diagnostic messages for state-specific requirements and limitations when filing electronically. See State electronic filing guide for information on which returns and attachments are supported.
Suppress Rhode Island return electronic file when filing federal return electronically
Use this field to suppress the Rhode Island return electronic file when filing the federal return electronically. This feature is also found in federal ELF Screen. If used in the federal screen, and if there are multiple states attached that accept electronic returns, the application does not create any electronic state files. This feature is also a global federal setting for new clients, available in the New Client dialog. Choose Setup, 1040 Individual, and then Federal tab and select the New Client Options button.
Signature Date if different from federal Screen PIN
Enter the date the return is electronically signed. The signature date defaults to the signature date entered in federal ELF Screen. Enter a date in this field if the federal return is not being filed electronically or the Rhode Island signature date is different from the federal.

Electronic Funds Withdrawal

Rhode Island Single Member LLC balance due can be paid via electronically funds withdrawal (EFW), starting with TY24.
Enable electronic funds withdrawal for a balance due return
Use this field to request an electronic withdrawal of funds for a balance due return. If this field isn't enabled, no withdrawal will occur.

Account Information

fields must be completed.
Non-US financial institution
There are regulations affecting international electronic funds transfers processed though the automated clearing house (ACH) network. A domestic ACH transaction is a direct deposit or withdrawal from an account in a U.S. financial institution. An international ACH transaction (IAT) is a direct deposit to an account in a U.S. bank that automatically forwards the refund to an account in a foreign financial institution, or a withdrawal from a U.S. bank account that receives the funds for that transaction from a foreign account. The account owner will know when an international transfer account has been established for them. Enter
X
if the account identified is used for an IAT. Because state agencies can't process an IAT, UltraTax CS suppresses the direct deposit or electronic funds withdrawal when this field is marked. This suppression is noted in the diagnostic messages and the account information is omitted from forms, client documents, and electronic returns. State agencies are tallying how many international transactions they'll need to support in future years so the return will indicate that an IAT was requested.
