Overview

Use this screen to provide additional information needed for Form RI 1040NR. If information transferred from UltraTax/1040 does not require additional data or coding, UltraTax/1040-RI shows it on the form only, not in this screen.

This screen only appears if you mark the state return as a part-year or nonresident return. To do so, choose File, Client Properties, and then Rhode Island tab and verify the applicable part-year resident or nonresident checkbox is marked.

General Information

UltraTax CS uses information entered in this section to complete part-year calculations.

AGI Worksheet State Amounts

Schedule D (Force)
For part-year and nonresident returns, use these fields to enter an amount different from the calculated amount in the State Amount columns of the Rhode Island AGI Worksheet for the Capital gain / loss line. UltraTax CS automatically calculates the in-state amounts of Capital gain / loss.
Form 4797 (Force)
For part-year and nonresident returns, use these fields to enter an amount different from the calculated amount in the State Amounts columns of the Rhode Island AGI Worksheet for the Other gain / loss line. UltraTax CS automatically calculates the in-state amounts for federal Form 4797, Part II.
Schedule E (Force)
For part-year and nonresident returns, use these fields to enter an amount different from the calculated amount in the State Amounts columns of the Rhode Island AGI Worksheet for the Rents, royalties line. UltraTax CS automatically calculates the in-state amounts for federal Schedule E.
Net operating loss carryover
For part-year and nonresident returns, use these fields only when completing the State Amounts columns of the Rhode Island AGI Worksheet for the Net operating loss carryover included in the Other income line.

Part-year Resident Allocation and Tax Worksheet

Use this section to enter income amounts during periods of residency and periods of nonresidency for part-year Rhode Island residents.
Column B Amount for Resident Period (Force)
For part-year residents only, enter the amount of income earned in Rhode Island while a Rhode Island resident on Form RI-1040NR, Schedule III, column B.
Column D Amount for Nonresident Period
For part-year residents only, enter the amount of income earned in Rhode Island while a nonresident of Rhode Island on Form RI-1040NR, Schedule III, column D.
