Create a 1040 Texas combined or unitary return

UltraTax CS allows for federal activities reported on a 1040 that come from a Schedule C, Schedule F, Schedule K-1, Form 4835, and Schedule E rental to transfer automatically and populate information on the Texas input screens. To do this correctly, first go to the federal activities input screen and use the State Use Code
7
and the companies
Secretary of State
or
Comptroller number
to assign it a unit number on the Texas input screens.
If the Secretary of State number or Comptroller number is the same, then only 1 unit is created on the Texas side, such as in the case of a combined reporting return. If you need any subsequent units for filling out the separate forms for each subsidiary or child company, then you need to manually add a unit on the
TXGen
screen in the General folder of the Texas input screens, and fill in the relevant information.
Create all manual units on the
TXGen
screen, otherwise the
Taxpayer name/Name of LLC
field is grayed out, and you could potentially run into input screen and form linking issues.
You can select the type of Texas Franchise return after creating the unit on the
TXGen
screen. Select the proper options in the
Type of Return
and
Return Selection
dropdown.
