The Washington Department of Revenue won’t accept paper-filed Capital Gains Tax returns generated by tax software. They need to be filed electronically.

The Capital Gains Tax return automatically prints when the Capital Gains Tax return is e-filed. It is up to the preparer to decide if a signature from the taxpayer on the attestation is necessary. Use this field to adjust the filing instructions / transmittal inserts accordingly.

    is entered in this field, the filing instructions / letter inserts indicate that the Attestation has already been signed.

    is entered in this field, the filing instructions / letter inserts omit any reference to the Attestation.
