Overview

Use this screen to calculate adjustments to the federal AGI.
Important information for filing Schedule CS - College Savings Accounts:
UltraTax CS uses the qualifying college savings entered in the federal
1099Q
screen. If the

Subtractions from Income

Use this section to enter information for subtractions from federal AGI.
Tuition expense (Force)
UltraTax CS defaults to the education expenses entered in the statement for
Eligible student information
in the federal

screen. Use this field to force the total subtraction modification on Form 1. This stops the calculation of the Wisconsin Tuition Expense Worksheet.
Student information
Eligible student information for Schedule PS, including first name, family name, and social security number is transferred from

Long-term care self employed health insurance deducted on Form 1040 (Force)
Enter the amount of long-term care insurance premiums paid that was deducted as self-employed health insurance on Form 1040, Page 1.
Long-term care insurance cost - employee spouse
Enter the amount of long-term care insurance premiums paid that relate to federal Schedules C, F, and K1-2 for an employee spouse.

Adjustments

Use this section to enter information for interest and dividends, additions and subtractions, and additional adjustments for all entity types.
Other additions to income
In the statement, enter classification codes and amounts for additions to federal adjusted gross income that should transfer to Form 1.
You don't need to enter other additions to adjusted gross income due to any of the following:
  • Federal NOL.
  • Excess farm losses.
  • Lump-sum distributions.
  • Differences in basis reported on Schedule T.
  • Adjustments passed through from Wisconsin partnerships, S Corporations, estates, and trusts.
UltraTax CS includes these additions in the statement when it's printed.
Other subtractions from income (For Schedule CS in federal Screen 1099Q, and WI Screen CS)
In the statement, enter classification codes and amounts for subtractions from federal adjusted gross income that should transfer to Form 1.
You don't need to enter other subtractions due to the following:
  • Medical care.
  • Retirement benefits.
  • Railroad retirement benefits.
  • Schedule T adjustments.
  • Adjustments passed through from Wisconsin partnerships, S Corporations, estates, and trusts.
UltraTax CS includes these subtractions in the statement when it's printed.
An entry for medical care will be treated as a force, the worksheets will still calculate, but the amounts won’t be used.
Non-farm Wisconsin AGI (Force)
If you enter an amount, UltraTax CS uses it rather than the calculated amount for Wisconsin non-farm adjusted gross income (that is, Wisconsin income excluding income and losses from farming activities).
Farm losses from Schedule K-1 (Enter as negative amount)
Enter the distributive share of farm losses from pass-through entities. Enter the share of losses as a negative amount. UltraTax CS uses this and other data to calculate the required addition of excess farm loss for Form 1.
Farm gains from Schedule K-1
Enter the distributive share of farm gains from pass-through entities. UltraTax CS uses this and other data to calculate the required addition of excess farm gains for Form 1.
