F1041-089 e-file error
If Form 1041, Line 15b 'NetOperatingLossDeductionAmt' has a non-zero value, the [NOLDeductionStatement] must be attached to Line 15b. (rule F1041-089)
You get this error when a net operating loss (NOL) is calculating on the return, but there isn't a statement for how the NOL occurred.
Solution
Go to the NOL screen in the Carryovers & NOL folder and enter an explanation detailing how the net operating loss occurred in the
NOL deduction statement (ELF only)
field.
