FPYMT-086 e-file error
'EstimatedPaymentDueDt' in the IRS ES Payment Record must not be more than 5 days prior to the received date. (value YYYY-MM-DD, rule FPYMT-086)
This happens when there's an estimated payment that has a date more than 5 days before you e-filed the return.
Solution
For 1040 and 1041 returns:
- Go to the Electronic Filing input folder.
- Open the ELF screen.
- Review the review the selections in theElectronic funds withdrawal for estimated tax by quarterfields for accuracy. Unmark any quarters that correspond to a date more than five days ago.noteFor example, if today's date is 06/30/2024 and the2estimate box is marked 1, for Return, you will receive this rejection because the second estimate due date is 06/15/2024. To correct, remove the 1 from thend2box and adjust the other estimate amounts, if needed, on Screen Est, in the Payments folder.nd
For 1120 returns:
- Go the the Payments input folder.
- Open the Est screen.
- Remove any estimates that correspond to a date that is more than 5 days ago.
- Recreate and retransmit the efile.
