Allocate expenses to tax-exempt income
You can allocate expenses to tax-exempt income directly or indirectly.
- To allocate expenses indirectly:
- To allocate expenses other than tax expenses indirectly, use 1 of the following methods:
- Enter expenses on theDeductscreen in theDeductionsfolder, but don't use the statement window for the expense.
- Enter the expense in the statement window for the expense and leaveIncome Typeblank to allocate the expense to all income types.
- To allocate tax expenses indirectly, go to theAllocatescreen in theAllocationfolder and mark theAllocate indirect tax expense to all income typescheckbox.
- To allocate expenses directly:
- Go to theDeductscreen in theDeductionsfolder.
- Open the statement window for the expense.
- EnterTEinIncome Type.
