Claim a deduction for foreign taxes
You have the following options for claiming a deduction for foreign taxes.
Option 1
- Go to theDeductscreen in theDeductionsfolder.
- Enter the amount of foreign taxes paid in the statement window for theTaxes, not entered elsewherefield.noteDon't enter information on the1116screen in the K1 1065 & 1120S folder, or enter foreign tax paid information in the statement window for theInterest incomefield or the statement window for theDividendsfield on theIncomescreen in theIncomefolder.
Option 2
- Go to theIncomescreen in theIncomefolder.
- Enter the amount of foreign taxes paid in the statement window for theInterest incomefield or in the statement window for theDividendsfield.
- Go to theOthCrscreen in theCreditsfolder.
- EnterXin theReport all foreign tax as a deductioncheckbox in the Form 1116 - Foreign Tax Credits section.
