Screen Letter - Client Document Options (1041)
Transmittal Letters and Filing Instructions
To have custom paragraphs display globally for all clients, when applicable, or to edit or create a custom paragraph, choose Setup, 1041 Fiduciary, then Federal. Select either Letters & Emails or Filing Instructions, and then choose the Custom Paragraphs tab .
Custom transmittal letter number
Enter the number of the transmittal letter you want to use or use the fieldview to make your selection. If you make an entry in this field, the transmittal letter you indicated prints rather than printing the default 1041 letter.

This field becomes available after you have created a custom transmittal letter. To open the Document Editing window where you can create a custom transmittal letter, choose Setup, 1041 Fiduciary, select the Federal tab, and click the Letters & Emails button.
Salutation
Enter the client’s name as it should appear in the salutation of the transmittal letter. Do not include greetings such as "Dear."
IRS Service Center
The state postal code entered on the 1041 screen determines the IRS Service Center shown in this field. This field is not applicable to Forms 1040NR, 1041-A, or 5227. If blank, the IRS Service Center for foreign returns displays in the filing instructions.
Beneficiary transmittal letter and slipsheet from fiduciary
The program prepares a transmittal letter and mailing slipsheet for all beneficiaries. Enter

to use fiduciary information instead of firm information for the return address and closing.
