Form IT-205-A Schedule 4 information

Interest and dividends from a trade or business source are taxable to the State of New York on Form IT-205-A, Schedule 4.
To identify interest and dividends as taxable, enter the following:
  • In State Source ($ or %)
  • NY
    for the state Postal Code
  • State use code
    10
    for interest, and dividends on the Income, K1, and K1T screens.
    note
    You can also enter interest and dividends on the NYC, NYF, and NYK1 screens as allocated income.
To include city income on Form IT-205-A, Schedule 4, enter at least 1 of the following:
  • A
    City Code
    in the
    Other income
    statement window on the federal Income screen.
  • A city in the
    City/state use code
    field on federal C, F, or K1 screens.
  • Data in the Allocation of Net Earnings section of the NYC, NYF, or NYK1 screens in the Income folder.
  • Interest, dividend, or capital gain information on the NY205A screen.
    note
    If interest, dividend or capital gains are taxable to NYC or Yonkers, you need to enter information on the NY205A screen.
To remove city income on Schedule 4, remove the city codes or information on any of the previous screens, or enter 0 in the City columns of the NY205A screen.
