Form 513 Deductions Column B - Total applicable

UltraTax CS calculates the Oklahoma source column for lines 12 through 17 as a percentage of federal income as follows. It uses amounts from the expense allocation worksheets.
  • If line 3 is blank, UltraTax CS multiplies the Fed column amount by the ratio of Total Income for OK column to total income for Fed column less U.S. obligations, if the 2 aren't equal.
  • If line 3 isn't blank, UltraTax CS multiplies the Fed column amount by the fraction of Total Income for OK column to the sum of total income for the Fed column less U.S. obligations plus municipal interest.
You can force each of the expenses on the OK Income screen.
note
You can change the expense allocation by marking
Use net rather than gross method for allocating expenses
on the federal Allocate screen in the Allocation folder. If you use this method, carefully review the federal return as allocation amounts could potentially change on the federal return.
Line 17 doesn't include the fed NOL amount in the ratio calculation (subtract the NOL prior to multiplying the fed total times the ratio, then add the OK additional depletion and depreciation). The net operating loss entered at the federal level is considered for federal purposes only. If any part of that net operating loss is attributable to OK, enter that amount on the
Net operating loss deduction
field on the OK Gen screen.
