Electronic filing forms and payment options
E-file mandate
The Virginia Department of Taxation (VDT) doesn't have an electronic filing mandate for fiduciary returns.
Forms included in the e-file
The VDT and UltraTax CS support electronic filing of the following forms for resident and nonresident fiduciaries:
- Form 770, Fiduciary Income Tax Return (calendar, fiscal and short year)
Virginia automatically attaches PDF attachments if you complete the following forms:
- Form 301, Enterprise Zone Credit
- Form 306, Coalfield Related Refunded Tax Credits
- Other state tax return(s) for Other State Credit for Taxes Paid
- Federal Form 5227
Forms not supported for e-filing
The VDT doesn't accept electronic filing of the following:
- Estimates
- Extension
Payment methods
The VDT accepts direct debit (EFW) and credit card payments for a balance due return. Direct deposit isn't supported for refunds.
