To deduct state tax payments on the federal return, enter those payments on the federal StPmt screen. Form IT-141 includes the amounts you enter with postal code
WV
 on page 1.

When you prepare an extension, the payment amount calculates and displays on:
  • the extension voucher
  • the field
  • the return.
Alternatively, you can enter the actual amount paid with the current-year extension to overrule the calculated amount that displays on the return.
