R0000-901-01 e-file error
Filer's EIN and Name Control in the Return Header must match data in the e-file database. (value #########, rule R0000-901-01)
You get this error when the IRS has a different EIN and Name Control combination on file than what you sent.
Solution
- With the client open, select File > Client Properties and make sure the EIN is correct.
- For 1041 returns only: Go to the 1041 screen in the General folder and make sure theFamily name for electronic filing name controlis correct.
- Check the name control
- Go to the Electronic Filing folder.
- Select the the ELF screen.
- If there is a name control in theName control: Forcefield, review Publication 4163 to make sure it's correct.
noteYou can find the Family name for name control on Form SS-4 - If you made a change to either the EIN or the Name Control, re-create and retransmit the e-file.
- If you are not forcing the name control and the EIN is correct, call the IRS e-help Desk at 866-255-0654 and have them verify the client's EIN and name control they're expecting.
