Schedule J (Form 5471), 'ForeignCorporationEIN' or 'ForeignEntityReferenceIdNum' must have a value. (rule SJ-5471-002-01)

Form 5471, Schedule J is missing the Foreign Employer Identification Number and/or the foreign entity's Reference ID number.

Review the following when resolving this error.

Go to the 5471 input folder.

Open the 5471 screen.

Check that the Employer Identification Number
(EIN) and/or Reference ID number
fields are correct.

If you are using ForeignUS or Applied For as the EIN on the 5471 screen, you must also provide a Reference ID number.

If you made any corrections, recreate and retransmit the return. Otherwise, contact the IRS e-Help Desk at 866-255-0654.
