Follow these steps to submit a payment by electronic funds withdrawal (EFW) for an electronically filed return or extension.

Go to the Bank screen.

Enter the Routing transit number
, Depositor account number
, and Type of account
.

The account needs to be in the United States to qualify for EFW.

Go to the ELF screen.

For returns: Enter a Requested payment date
for Electronic funds withdrawal for amended returns
.

For Extensions: Enter a Requested payment date
for Electronic funds withdrawal for extension
.

An FYI diagnostic will trigger indicating how the balance due should or will be paid.
