Import partner information from Microsoft Excel

With the
Excel Import
utility, you can import partnership information from a Microsoft Excel workbook to the
Partner Information
,
Allocations
, and
Changes of Ownership
windows in
Partner Data Entry
. You'll need to begin with an Excel worksheet that was previously exported from UltraTax CS.
  1. To make sure that UltraTax CS/1065 imports all your changes, save the Excel workbook before you import the information.
  2. Open the UltraTax CS/1065 client you want to import partner data for from Excel.
  3. Select
    Utilities
    , then
    1065 Excel Import
    .
  4. Enter the path for the Excel file location in the
    Look in
    field.
  5. Enter the Excel file name in the
    File name
    field. The default file name is the same as the client ID.
  6. Mark the
    Partner data
    checkbox in the
    Information
    section.
  7. Select
    Import
    .
If any errors occur during the import process, you can view a list of the errors in the
Partner Information Import Warnings
window. Select
Open Excel
to open the Excel file, correct the errors, and then save the file. Select
Done
to close the window and then re-import the file. Select
Print
in this window to print a list of the errors.
