Use this window to enter apportionment data for city and other returns. UltraTax CS uses this information to complete the apportionment factor for income subject to apportionment. In general, business income is apportioned and non-business income is allocated.
To open the
Cities and other returns
window, select
View
, then
Apportionment
with a 1065 state client open. In the
Apportionment Information
window, select the state tab, and select
Cities or other return
. Note that you'll need to have a city or other return attached to this client to open this window.

Dialog components

note
  • You can make entries only in
    white fields
    in the
    Cities and other returns
spreadsheet. The amounts for the everywhere fields on the city or other return form transfer from either the
    Everywhere / (Override)
column or the state column in the
    Apportionment Information
    window, depending on the law.
    Shaded fields
are for components that aren't used on the city's or other return's apportionment form.
  • Some fields in the
    Cities and other returns
spreadsheet and city or other return tabs have statements to enter detailed information for this factor's component. UltraTax CS uses the information entered in the statement's
    Everywhere
column as the everywhere amount for that component. UltraTax CS ignores the amount in the
    Everywhere / (Override)
column for that component in the
    Apportionment Information
    spreadsheet.
